Born from the passion and drive to make a difference, Western Sky Excavation was founded in 2020 by Corey Lemon. As a 5th generation Montanan, born in Livingston and moved to the Gallatin Valley when he was 6, Corey’s love for Montana and its values stands firm and runs deep. His passion for excavation launched when he originally began working for his father-in-law who had started an excavation business in Gallatin Valley in the late 90’s. He fell in love and since then has never looked back.

Starting with a humble fleet of just a mini excavator and a skid steer while doing smaller jobs on the weekends and still working for his father-in-law during the week, Western Sky Excavation quickly expanded their horizons to meet the growing demands of not only their clients, but also the exceptionally quick growth of Bozeman and the surrounding areas. Western Sky’s approach to each project is fueled by their core values- quality workmanship, collaboration with general contractors as well as homeowners, loyalty, trust, and setting the standard for not just excavation but all of construction in the Gallatin Valley. Corey believes that the construction process should be about more than just the finished project and equally about building relationships while creating visions come to life.

Him, his wife Jeni, and two-year-old son, Beau love nothing more than hitting a trail in their side by side, hunting, swinging a golf club at a local golf course, or taking their two golden retrievers out for walks. As any Montana native, his love for this state and its community holds true throughout every aspect of his life.
